ABOUT US

The Vanderbilt HBCD team is proud to serve families in the greater Nashville community. Our team, led by Drs. Laurie Cutting and Sarah Osmundson, brings experience in women’s health, child development, neuroimaging, and peer recovery support. Most of our study staff have been with the team since the planning phases and have over a decade of experience in clinical patient care, infant and child neuroimaging research, and/or peer recovery support. Through strong relationships with local community organizations, our study navigator helps families throughout their participation. We tailor study visits to meet each family’s needs and strive to create a supportive, welcoming environment with child-friendly spaces and activities. Families can access resources such as our lab’s comfortable family lounge stocked with toys and snacks for study visits. We also maintain a donation closet with supplies for families in need. We are deeply grateful to the families who choose to take part in the HBCD Study and appreciate the opportunity to learn alongside them.
