ABOUT US
The University of California, San Diego HBCD site is located in Sunny San Diego! Our team is passionate about working with caregivers and their babies to promote infant and maternal health through research. They have a diverse range of backgrounds in epidemiology, public health, and psychology. Our Research Associates have previously worked on MRI and EEG studies and within community spaces. They are cross-trained to have expertise in all study aspects, including supporting participants as Study Navigators. We have extensive resources to provide both during study visits and within the community to make participation as enjoyable and accessible as possible. Our primary site is located within the Center for Better Beginnings (CBB) in the pediatrics department. The CBB has been conducting maternal health and child development research to improve prenatal and postnatal outcomes for pregnant persons and their babies for over twenty-five years. The HBCD team is excited to contribute to the growing body of research surrounding child development and how it can be influenced by exposures and environmental influences.
